For those who are looking for the more challenging routes of Valsugana and Lagorai to explore the mountain range, there is also an extensive network of hiking trails of S.A.T. with choice of trails suitable for all difficulty levels, which enable you, in every period of the year (some routes are attainable with snow shoes) to discover interesting parts of nature and history.
Of the Marcesina plateau topped by the historic Ortigara and Cima XII, on the high plateau of Vezzena with the impressive Pizzo di Levico, to the long mountain chain of the Lagorai mountain leading to the Panarotta and the Pale di San Martino, the granite massif of Cima d’Asta in Tesino. There are many hiking trails in these mountains.
The Valsugana and Lagorai are crossed by a network of SAT paths, indicated by special red and white marks that indicate the direction. They range from simple walks of 1 or 2 hours to strenuous hikes of 4-5 hours, which gives you acces to the highest peaks. Along routes where you learn a lot about the flora and fauna of the Alps and over the tracks of the history through the still visible remains of trenches and military roads from the first world war.
